Good afternoon everyone! I have great news to report…
Chris is out of surgery and the surgeon reported that they were able to achieve the best possible outcome. During the surgery they got everything out and have clean margins at all sites. He will of course be going to a post op/recovery room now and will wait there until a private room becomes available. They are managing the pain with meds through an epidural, this will continue throughout the night. He will be mostly out of it the duration of today, getting some much needed rest.
The doctor indicated that he should not need any follow up procedures or chemo or anything of the like with this type of cancer. He will, of course, need to get routine scans for a while.
