Chris has had some relief today (Thursday) from constant hiccups which seem to be the result of how the organs were moved around in relation to the diaphragm during surgery. He had a CT scan to check for fluid. Mostly he is quite drowsy.

Chris is home and back in his recliner! Lots of healing ahead.

During Chris’ bowel resection surgery, the tumor in the ilium was removed, along with the appendix, right colon/adjoining lymph nodes and a small lesion in the liver. Today was transfer day to a regular room.  Chris is having trouble sleeping due to discomfort, so it makes for long days. He walked around his room some today, and the plan is to get moving more on Sunday.

Chris spent most of the day sitting up in the chair. Still working through pain management, but both surgeons have dropped by to reinforce their positive reports from Wednesday’s surgery.

Chris was transferred to a step-down room today. His biggest hurdle right now is pain management. They were unable to perform the surgery via the laparoscope so his body has a lot of recovery ahead.
